This is a recent photo taken of Pope Francis speaking to the public. Take note of the amount of people in the crowd without a phone.  Mobile phone sales since 2005 have averaged between 30-40 million sales with a high in 2010 of over 40 million phones!  Believe it or not though, there is still over 20% of the population that still does not own a mobile phone!
